you might use at home draws up to 15 amps, so be careful not to overload a power bar with an excess of equipment. If your circuit breaker switch does switch off while oper- ating your equipment, this is a WARNING that you have overloaded the circuit and poses a risk of electrical fire. (See the image on the opposite page)
OTHER SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:
• As the weather gets warmer and we start to enjoy our bal-
conies and terraces, please be reminded to never toss a cigarette butt over your railing as it could be blown back onto a balcony below and start a fire.
• Please keep your suite clear of any clutter which is against the fire code. Slips, trips and falls remain one of the most common injuries especially in smaller spaces like condos where you are moving about your unit during our stay home/lockdowns much more than your normal routine.
• Never leave lit candles unattended in your suite as this is a fire hazard.
MENTAL HEALTH
& EXCERCISE:
Daily exercise is recommended by health professionals to not only help your physical but also mental wellbeing. For many of us, the Province’s stay home orders throughout the pan- demic have certainly changed our daily routine. It is important for us to follow all prescribed procedures to pro- tect ourselves from the risk of Covid-19 and at the same time, look after our own physical and mental health as well. We all miss having access to our wonderful fitness facilities and we look forward to being able to open them again as soon as public health allows. In the meantime, we are fortunate to live on the Humber Bay Park boardwalk and with the recent shift to warmer days, the opportunity to get out for a stroll or a run will not only clear the cobwebs from being indoors but has been proven in many studies to help with general anxiety and depression as well as your sleep. When exercising on the grounds and in the community, please observe social dis- tancing of at least 6ft from those not in your immediate household and wear a face covering when this is a challenge.
As we head into the summer, there are many wonderful sights to see as the wildlife and blooms return. Please visit the Friends of Humber Bay website on google for more information about the natural wonders of our neighbour- hood and to read their Newsletter: Friends Of Humber Bay Park (google.com)
