In reflecting back over the past year, year. Please come to the Market and sup-
there have been challenges that we
have had to face as a community. Our HBSCA community are volunteers. Being a volunteer means putting others before yourself and I’m proud of the work our board does.
We continue to have ongoing meetings with city planners and traffic committees regarding the First Capital Site.
We would like to thank all of our local retail businesses for staying open during these times for our community. We need to support our local businesses now and when we start to get back to normal.
Thank you to all the Front-Line Workers in the City and the Province, you have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Our community continues to deal with Covid19. There are rules set out by Toronto Public Health and we need to follow them as a community. Please remember to avoid large events and gath- erings at all times. Promote healthy behaviors and maintain healthy environ- ments to reduce risk. If you see a large group - please report it to Toronto Police 416-808-2200 and Toronto 311.
Note: Some continued behaviour in our community is not acceptable; not following physical distancing and not wearing masks consistently and properly can increase the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
FARMERS MARKET
Our Famers Market will begin May 29th at 9 am running until 2 pm. Toronto Public Health guidelines are the same as last
port our local vendors and farmers of Ontario. First Capital will be attending the Farmers Market to answer question from the community.
HUMBER BAY SHORES
PARK EAST
City staff are working to complete the designs for the Humber Bay Park East building project. Last summer, and this spring, City staff have been conducting soil testing on the site to determine the best way forward. The HBSCA is working closely with the City and Coun- cillor Grimes to see this project through. We hope to have some good news for you later this year, and you can find out more about the project in the Humber Bay Parks Master Plan at www.toronto.ca/humberbayparks.
COMMUNITY TRAFFICUPDATE
The HBSCA works closely with Councillor Grimes and the City of Toronto Trans- portation Services to find new ways to keep our community’s streets safe. Over the years, we’ve worked together to install new stop signs, new parking regulations, and the new pedestrian crosswalk, but we need enforcement to help make sure that these new features are obeyed by drivers. You can report issues that you see directly to www.torontopolice.on.ca/core. We know that the police can’t be everywhere at once; reporting issues that you see helps to show the police exactly where they need to focus their attention. HH
